2:39 pm	Hrmmm...it's been a bit. Holy crap...been a while since my last post...ain't like it's been uneventful in that stretch either...not that anyone that actually reads my blog would be surprised by any of the events. But, just to make me feel like I've accomplished something, I'll sum up (explaining takes too long, after all). I'm now once again happily married...and my wonderful wife and I are expecting a bundle of... ... ... Well...destruction, if the truth be told. If you hear sobbing in mid to late November, that'll be us. ::nods:: I got Halo to fly on a plane for our honeymoon trip to New Orleans... What can I actually say about New Orleans? We were there for 4 days, and I could have happily stayed forever. The French Quarter is like nothing I've ever seen before, to the point that I actually appreciated architecture (not normally my bag). The people were wonderful, the city beautiful and...yeah. Had I the ability to do so, its one of the few places that I'd happily move to. And now? Well, we've been back for over a month. The kids are getting ready to start school. The Little Miss will be heading out for her first sleepaway camp ever. I'm excited for her but selfishly bitter at the same time. I feel like Shorty, Little Miss and Trouble have been gone most of the summer and we haven't got to spend any time with 'em. Very frustrating for a homebody like me. Ah well...part of kids growing up, I guess. Seems like they're all hitting/have hit those ages where they require less time (both a good thing and a bad thing if you ask me). Hopefully I write something more recent than a year from now...but no promises...and things remain unchanged with the ex. Big shock, huh? ::wink:: (2 Comments |Comment on this)

1:52 pm	More than I deserve... So...Lyssa's been invited to her first ever sleep over party this weekend. Oddly enough, she's NOT jumping at the idea for once. This is the kid that SO wants to be a grown up that she can hardly stand it...she's driven to a degree that astounds me...to the point that I worry about her from time to time. But given the chance to show how much of a big kid she is...she said "But I'll miss my Daddy." Kinda gets you right in the chest...especially for me lately. Y'see, lately I've been feeling like pretty much everyone I know would choose someone else over me in pretty much every instance I can think of...it's not the same person in every one (my inferiority complex isn't THAT pronounced)...but it really is pervasive. And has been bothering me for the last week. Then along comes Lyssa with something like this...something completely nonsensical...something that she doesn't even realize...and it sorta fills up that empty spot in my middle. 10:59 am	Wondering... How do you tell a friend that they're making a mistake? You think You pray You hope You dream But in the end, it's their mistake to make...no matter how much you wish you can stop them from making it, it's there...waiting...lurking... You pray that things won't end badly...but if things didn't end badly, would they ever really end? You pray that everyone makes the right decisions and can move on with life, better for it... But sometimes that's just not meant to be. So you wait, biding time till you have to pick up the pieces and try to put them back together again...wishing you could take the hurt for them...wishing you could fix the hole that'll never really be right again if things go wrong. Mostly I guess you just have to be there... Which means waiting. I hate waiting. (Comment on this)

10:30 am	Always so odd... I've been blamed by a lot of people for not liking visiting with friends after I've left...blamed might not be the best word, really...accused? I'm not sure, but the gist of it is that I don't often see my friends from places that I used to live, and there's a really good reason for that: I HATE saying goodbye. It's hard. It aches. It's like it leaves a great big empty feeling in my middle that's tough to fill after they've left, and the happier I am to see them again, the bigger the hole to fill when they've left again. Freaky, ain't it? The reasonable thing is to avoid that, since that ache-y feeling is one of the worst in the world so far as I'm concerned. But I've never been reasonable, so I'll be going up to visit some friends at Penn State that have always had a special place in my heart. Yup...aching sucks. (Comment on this)
